Works in Collections presents a selection of paintings held in private and corporate collections in Denmark and Europe.

The works are organised into series, reflecting different periods and themes within Jakob Ivan Larsen's artistic practice. Together they document the development of a visual language shaped by landscape, architecture, memory and human presence.

Forrest Scapes

Forest Scapes explores the atmosphere, memory and quiet presence found within wooded landscapes touched by man. Landscapes are formed by trees, lakes, cabins and the sky. Balancing abstraction and figuration, the series invites viewers into spaces between observation and imagination. Inspiration for this series is drawn from natural landscapes as well as heavily from movies and televison.

Seascapes

Inspired by coastal landscapes, rock formations and life beneath the water's surface, Seascapes explores texture, structure and atmosphere through layered compositions, depth and colour.

People Scapes explore human presence within imagined and emotional landscapes, where figures emerge through layers, fragments and narrative associations.

City Scapes

City Scapes explores the relationship between architecture, urban space and human presence. Developed between 2016 to early 2020's, the series reflects Jakob Ivan Larsen's background in architecture, his love for the urban city and his interest in structure, rhythm and spatial composition.
